Abstract
Through significant advancements in digital content delivery, generally referred to as "app stores" by end users, Xbox, Steam and Apple have developed efficient ways for users to find and install software.
In an age that often feels more divided than ever, video games are enabling us to connect with others in new ways that feel familiar, while providing a path forward to reimagine the intersection of play and the power of communities.
However, the current solutions have not yet used the powers that blockchain has to offer in this ever growing industry.
โจThe Problems
Distribution
Currently there is a huge lack of blockchain gaming ecosystems available. Valve recently declared that games and apps that use blockchain-based cryptocurrencies or Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) will not be able to be distributed on its Steam platform.
Communications
Communication is a valuable commodity within the video game industry, something that's highly appreciated by the community itself. However, the current solutions are outdated and don't have the benefits of blockchain technology.
